When you want to start walking, you first need to know your destination or at least the direction you need to start walking to wards. Let it be your project goal or your life goal.

When it come to improving yourself, /reinventing yourself your value, ie what is important to you act as your moral compass.

It is not easy deciding or realising what is your core value when everything feels so important.

Stephen Covey in the 7 habits of highly effective people says to, think of your funeral. who are there? And what kind of things are they saying? What do you want them to be saying? And that is your actual end goal in life. Projects or work is just a part of that.

What I’m using at the moment is the Personal Value Card Sort from a study done by University of New Mexico, 2011.

In this study, you decide whether a value is your not important, somewhat important, important, very important or most important. And after that you choose the top 10 in your most important and then numbering them in the order of importance to give you the guidance, your moral rule for when deciding anything.

This well take time for you to actually face yourself and be honest. Weeks, possibly months. But I believe this is the most important part.
